Our Story

Hello, I'm Megan, and I am the person behind Amnibax Jewellery.
I've always been fascinated by jewellery, jewellers and gemstones. I worked in fine jewellery retail for several years, and gained experience in styles, stone settings, what felt good in the hand. Through this role, I was lucky enough to work with some big brand names, helping customers design truly unique pieces.
When it came time for our wedding, we ordered a little wax-carving ring kit from the Internet to make eachother's wedding bands. I fell in love with the process, although I will admit to becoming frustrated at the time! A couple of years later, and still wearing my first wax carved ring every day, I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis.
This is an autoimmune disease which targets joints, tendons and bones. I realised I needed something to keep me busy, to keep me positive and creative through a challenging time in my life. If it could help with dexterity, that was even better. I suddenly remembered the joy I'd had carving my wedding band, and ordered some wax. I reached out to other local goldsmiths, I remember how nervous I was on the bus to meet them! The rest, as they say, is history.
Amnibax Jewellery was born. Each piece is carved at my small bench next to the stove in my cottage in the Scottish Borders. I use Scottish and UK based suppliers for everything, and I've been stocked in stores in Saint Andrews, at pop-ups in Edinburgh, taken custom orders, booked to feature at Paxton House Art Fair, and continue to improve everyday.
The Borderlands inspire everything I make - the rugged sandstone coastal formations, the natural forms of Cairns and groves and hedgerows. I hope that each piece gives you a little bit of country life to carry with you.
Each one of my pieces comes hallmarked, and bearing my unique Sponsor's Mark - a shamrock, representing luck, and the clovers that grow in the garden.
Thank you for being here
With love, Megan.
